Wouldn’t you rest easier at night knowing that your dependents are financially covered if anything were to happen to you?

By taking out a life insurance plan, it will help protect your loved ones financially if the worst were to happen or you become unwell. Your family will receive a pay-out which they can use to cover costs for things such as funerals, and any outstanding debt.

Many people will choose to take out a life insurance policy due to key life changes. For example, buying your own home, getting married, or having children. By taking out a life insurance policy, you will be given the peace of mind that your loved ones are protected and looked after, should anything happen during the term of the policy.

At the end of the day, taking out life insurance is for them. Make sure your loved ones are covered today from as little as £6-per-month.

What Are The Different Policy Types That I Can Take Out?

When taking out a life insurance policy, you’ll be asked which type of cover you’d like to purchase. There are three levels of cover. Here are your options:

Life Insurance

This will pay your dependents money as a lump sum or as regular payments if you pass away. It’s designed to look after your dependants after you’re no longer there to provide for them. The level of cover you take out will affect the amount of money that’s paid out and you can also decide how it’s paid out (e.g. covering the mortgage, rent etc.)

Life + Critical Illness

Unfortunately, regular life insurance will not cover you if you’re hit with a critical illness. Luckily, you can take out a policy that covers you if said event takes place. Critical illness cover pays out a tax-free lump sum if you’re diagnosed with an insured medical condition during the term of your policy.

Whole of Life

This policy type guarantees that an insurance provider will pay out a tax-free lump sum to your dependants when you pass, rather than within a fixed time frame. However, if you live beyond the term, your plan has no cash-in value.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that taking out life insurance can seem quite daunting. That’s why we’ve put together a collection of FAQs to answer any questions that you may have.

It’s definitely worth considering taking out a life insurance policy after major life events such as having a child or moving house. If you have a spouse or child who is dependent on you financially, having life insurance will help pay the mortgage, rent or other bills if anything were to happen to you.
Most mortgage lenders will ask you to take out life insurance so they know the debt will be paid if anything were to happen. However, it isn’t a legal requirement and you also don’t have to get life insurance from your mortgage provider. You also need to know if you want your policy to cover the mortgage, or if you want your dependents to get a pay-out on top too.
You can still get life insurance if you have a pre-existing medication condition, but it may end up costing more. That’s because you’ll be considered as a higher risk than those without. You’re also likely to be asked for more information about the condition, any medication that you’re taking, and could also be asked to take a medical.
